The social and environmental transformations that the world is experiencing make it necessary to have a pedagogical practice focused on sustainability. The relationship of dependence that exists between society and energy resources, in particular, raises concerns for the future. This work aimed to develop an action with two 9th year classes at the Pedro Teixeira de Vasconcelos State School in MaceiĆ³, in the state of Alagoas. This project helped raise students' awareness of the importance of renewable and non-renewable energy sources and the rational use of energy. A survey carried out prior to the start of the project showed that more than 40% of students lacked information about renewable europe mobile number list and non-renewable energy sources. During this work, young people were invited to participate in theoretical classes, discussions, reading texts, practical classes with the help of educational kits and knowledge workshops. Through the workshops, students were able to create awareness material, which was used to mobilize other students at the school to avoid wasting energy. The methodology used in this project was well accepted by the students, which helped in their learning process. The percentage of students who believed that avoiding energy waste at home, at school and in any establishment meant using energy rationally increased from 57% to 91% after the activities carried out. These activities were fundamental in encouraging the active participation of these young people in the classroom and encouraging teamwork.
